There are as many different types of weddings as there are different types of people — meaning there is no end to the variety. Although most weddings include some standard elements, like a ceremony with a professional and a reception with a meal and dancing, there are unlimited ways those parts can be executed. Some weddings even switch up the format, like brunch weddings, passed appetizers instead of dinner, or reception-only events.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with couples at beach weddings, barn weddings, city skyline weddings, and museum weddings. We’ve done backyard weddings and castle weddings, mountain weddings and garden weddings, Harry Potter weddings and winery weddings. We’ve worked with couples all across Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, and more.
We like to write up recaps of some of our favorite events to share ideas with other couples and help them to hone in on what they want for their wedding day. Maybe you’ll realize you want a city skyline view for your reception, like Cito and Kelly. Or maybe you’ll want to head out to the Chesapeake Bay for a waterfront wedding, like Hannah and Chris. How about a magical, fantasy-inspired wedding like Cory and Lawrence?
You’ll also find ideas for ceremony music, first dance songs, and father/daughter and mother/son tunes. Plus, we’ll describe some of the uplighting techniques that we’ve used to create a special glow around ceremonies and receptions.
By sharing details of the real weddings that we’ve worked on, we hope you’ll be able to envision what you want for your wedding day, and how we can help to make it happen.
