There’s no better way to spend a beautiful, breezy October day than at an outdoor wedding. So there’s nowhere we would have rather been on October 7th, 2022 than at Christin and Nate’s celebration!
They held their wedding at Historic Ashland, a fantastic wedding venue blending elegance and rusticity in southern Pennsylvania. With a mansion, cottage, and massive double-height barn onsite, this space offers all the space you could possibly need for your wedding weekend.
There are multiple ceremony sites on the property, including a paved location under the trees and a wooded streamside site with a small limestone ruin. For their ceremony, Christin and Nate chose the pretty garden patio, surrounded by lush greenery and fields beyond. The patio is anchored by the garden pergola, which made the perfect ceremony spot.
The parents and wedding party entered the patio to Marry Me by Train. The bridesmaids looked so romantic in shades of pink and rose! Then all eyes were on Christin, as she made her grand entrance to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri in a fabulous lacey gown. After the ceremony, the couple made their retreat to Unconditional by Katy Perry, which was an epic choice!

For the reception, the party moved into the enormous barn. Built in 1806, this special space is over 10,000 square feet of wood and stone, lit by elegant chandeliers and string lights for a warm glow.
The wedding party was welcomed to the barn to This Is What You Came For by Calvin Harris and Rhianna. Then the happy couple was introduced for the first time to Bring Em Out by T.I. They stepped straight into their first dance to Change Your Name by Brett Young.
(To really drive the point home, there was a great neon sign with their new last name behind their sweetheart table.)
Christin and Nate kept the country theme going for the rest of their formal dances, with Just Fishin’ by Trace Adkins and My Wish by Rascal Flatts for Christin’s dances, and Wild World by Kip Moore for Nate’s dance with his mom.
After speeches and toasts (including a wonderful speech from the mother of the groom about Nate’s lifelong basketball career), it was dancefloor time! Uplighting by Maryland’s DJ created a white glow during the speeches and formal dances, but Pennsylvania DJ Ryan Carr switched that to a rainbow of magentas, purples, and blues during the party.
The couple also added a photobooth to their event, so guests could make keepsakes to take home. Peep the “hedge” background, which coordinates beautifully with the greenery wall behind the sweetheart table!
After the crowd was tired-yet-happy from a day of love and dancing, they sent Christin and Nate off under an archway of sparklers.
“Maryland” may be in our name, but that’s just our home base. We serve couples in Virginia, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania as well. So if you’re planning a wedding anywhere in the area, we can help! Contact us to check our schedule and get matched up with the right DJ for your big day!
