When you work in the wedding industry in the Maryland area, it’s easy to take for granted how many amazing wedding and event venues we have on our doorstep. It’s not everywhere that you’ll find country and city venues, beach and mountain venues, modern and historic venues — all within a short drive of each other.
So we like to highlight some of our absolute favorite places to celebrate in the DMV, and tell you what’s so special about them!
With so much history in the area, we are awash in museums! Museum venues are such fun for guests, especially out-of-town visitors. They provide an atmosphere you won’t get anywhere else. Whether it’s a historic home-turned-museum like the Evergreen Museum and Library, or an industrial space with quirky exhibits like the Baltimore Museum of Industry, museum venues will leave your guests with plenty to talk about.
Farm and vineyard venues let couples get married in the rolling hills of the countryside. Views of trees and water features at Maryland’s Pond View Farm and Virginia’s Murray Hill Farm can make you forget how close you are to the nation’s capital! Or you can head to downtown DC for a more urban feel. Potomac View Terrace has views of the National Mall, including the Washington Monument, U.S. Capitol, and Lincoln Memorial.
Beachside Maryland wedding venues like the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay and Chesapeake Bay Beach Club let couples get married in style, with the glittering bay as their backdrop.
And don’t forget the historic venues! The Mt. Washington Mill Dye House is steeped in history, and The Belvedere saw famous visitors like Theodore Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, and Clark Gable back when it was a hotel.
There are so many charming venues around that we couldn’t possibly include them all. But we’re always adding new writeups about our favorites, so check back here often.
