At Maryland’s DJ, we believe that the perfect wedding venue is out there for every couple. And even though we’re in the business of providing the party vibe for your special day, we feel like we’d be remiss if we didn’t share some of our insider knowledge about the local wedding scene.
Newly engaged couples may be overwhelmed by all the gorgeous venue choices in the area. So we’ve selected a few of our favorites, from rustic to luxurious to industrial.
This list is certainly not ALL of the good wedding venues in Baltimore — that would require several times more ink! But they’re all 100% beautiful and 100% Baltimore.
George Peabody Library

Glittering by day and dramatic by night, the George Peabody Library has to be one of the most stunning venues in Baltimore. If every library looked like this, I bet we’d all read a lot more!
In a central atrium surrounded by stacks of books, wrought iron railings, and 6 stories of columns that culminate in a massive skylight, couples can celebrate both their ceremonies and receptions.
This one-of-a-kind venue is a regular honoree on “most beautiful libraries in the world” lists, and it’s ready to host you and up to 200 guests for a seated dinner.

Mt. Washington Mill Dye House

Just a few minutes from bustling downtown Baltimore is the historic Mt. Washington Mill Dye House. One of the oldest venues in the area, the Dye House is over 200 years old and has a history as interesting as the city itself!
This rustic venue has both interior and exterior space for wedding events and photo shoots. The exposed brick, distressed plaster walls, and exposed beams make this both an elegant and unfussy wedding venue for classy couples.

Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park
The Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park is in one of the oldest waterfront industrial buildings in the city. It honors the legacies of abolitionist Frederick Douglass and trade unionist Isaac Myers, plus recognizes the first African-American established shipyard built right here on Baltimore Harbor.
This National Heritage Site is both an important part of Baltimore’s history and a beautiful place for a wedding! Couples can have their ceremony on a pier that juts straight out into the harbor, with the city as their backdrop.
For the reception, the party can gather under a tent outside on the docks, or retreat into the industrial-style banquet room. Leave the brick walls exposed to enjoy their natural patina, or drape them in linens for a softer look.

Baltimore Museum of Art
Majestic Fox Court at BMA - Photo by Dani Leigh Photography
There are several spaces available for weddings at the Baltimore Museum of Art, but none is more jaw-dropping than the well-named Majestic Fox Court.
This massive space is all the more impressive for its simplicity. Smooth-sided ionic columns line the room and hold a coffered ceiling with sidelights to let in natural light during the day. And at night, the space is illuminated by a sheet of hanging bulbs that evoke star constellations.
Ceremonies can be held inside the building, or outside with the grand museum facade as a backdrop.
