A beautiful fall day, a killer soundtrack, and a couple that beamed happiness made Will and Tim’s October wedding a triumph. This joyful autumn celebration was held at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Cambridge, Maryland. With sleek modern ballrooms and beautiful bay views, this is a magical place to get married!
To make sure this perfect day was…well, perfect, we sent DJ John and MC Laz to man the booth. This pair is legendary for their ability to get the dance floor popping and keep the energy up all night. They were joined by the pros from Daniel Bostwick Photography who caught every memorable moment, and the brilliant party planners from Belle of the Ball Weddings & Events.
Before the ceremony began, Will and Tim asked DJ John to play acoustic love song covers by groups like Boyce Avenue. When things were ready to begin, the officiant made his entrance to the Jazzagals’ cover of Precious Love from Schitt’s Creek.
Then it was time for the wedding party to head down the aisle. The couple chose Lover by Taylor Swift (who will be a recurring theme on this special day). Will then entered during the bridge of the same song, when Ms. Swift sings “Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?” We loved how they incorporated the lyrics into their processional!
Donning matching merlot suit jackets, the grooms met at the Grand Fireplace Patio with views of the pool and Chesapeake Bay in the background. And when all was over, the crew made their retreat to I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do by ABBA—gotta love that saxophone intro.
The Choptank Ballroom was a fall fantasy, decorated with warm reds, oranges, and peaches. Tables were adorned with pumpkin centerpieces, and Maryland’s DJ used amber uplighting to give the space a cozy glow.
The wedding party danced their way into the reception to We Found Love by Rihanna. Then the grooms made a triumphant entrance to Ready for It by Taylor Swift. After one outfit change (swapping out that merlot jacket for a fabulous sparkly number), Will and Tim danced their first dance to Hold My Hand by Lady Gaga. Then both grooms danced with Will’s mom Vicki—first Will to The Perfect Fan by Backstreet Boys, then Tim to Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole. Next, all the couples were welcomed to the dance floor to dance to Butterflies by Kacey Musgraves.
According to DJ John and MC Laz, "A gorgeous venue, an awesome crowd, and a phenomenal team of vendors came together to celebrate this beautiful couple, and we were just honored to play a part in their day. When the place is full of genuine love and happiness like that and the team are all fantastic, it makes our job so much easier. This was a blast and an honor!"
The pair went silly during their cake cutting, choosing Eat It by “Weird” Al Yankovic. But they amped the drama back up with an anniversary dance to Unconditionally by Katy Perry. And for the last song of the night, they chose triumphant anthem Here’s to Us by Halestorm.
Will and Tim made a joyful exit to—who else?—Taylor Swift, choosing Long Live. This wedding covered a full decade of the Ms. Swift’s career!
