It can be a challenge to nail the balance between fun and formal, cool and classy. But couple Justyna and Nick seem to have nailed it. They combined a historic venue and formal dress code with fun pop and Polish music for the best of both worlds.
Justyna and Nick’s beautiful wedding was held at the Tidewater Inn in Easton, Maryland. This 1949 inn was built in the Colonial Revival style, with red brick arches, wrought-iron railings, and classic paned windows, making it look much older than it really is and blending in seamlessly with the historic town.
Easton-based photographer Laura with Laura's Focus Photography was on-hand to capture every moment. We love how her candid shots look just as flawless as her posed ones. (During the off-season, Laura and her husband sail the Bahamas on their own catamaran. Sounds like she’s nailed the work-life balance thing.)
The guests gathered in a quiet courtyard for the ceremony, while Maryland wedding DJ Brian Doane set the mood with gentle string covers. At 5:00 p.m., DJ Brian started a cover of U2’s Beautiful Day by StringSpace String Quartet, cueing the wedding party to make their way in across the red brick walkway. This is a string cover we don’t hear often enough—it’s the perfect mix of classic and jubilant!
For Justyna’s processional, she chose another string cover, Can’t Help Falling in Love by Brooklyn Duo. She and Nick met at the front to say their vows beneath a white trellis covered in creeping ivy.
Post-ceremony, the happy couple beat a retreat to (This Will Be) An Everlasting Love by Natalie Cole, which always gets people swaying and snapping.
After cocktail hour in the courtyard and adjacent Rose Room, the party moved into the Crystal Room for the reception. This space is a real stunner with beautiful herringbone wood floors, crystal chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows. It feels like a perfectly preserved ballroom right out of the 18th century.
The wedding party made their intro to the always happy Can’t Stop the Feeling! by Justin Timberlake. Then the newly wedded duo entered to Best Day of My Life by American Authors.
For their first dance, Justyna and Nick chose Yours by Russell Dickerson. Justyna and her dad danced to Swifty wedding favorite Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift, followed by Nick and his mom to My Wish by Rascal Flatts.
Then it was time to open up the dance floor! White uplighting kept the space warm and cozy throughout the celebration.
DJ Brian brought a multicultural flair to the night’s soundtrack, to honor Justyna’s Polish heritage. "[This wedding] was a really great opportunity to learn about Polish music. The family and guests that traveled from Poland had some of the most fun energy I've seen at a wedding and they really appreciated the Polish music that I played.”
Keeping with the classy vibes of the evening, the couple had a beautifully simple wedding cake. For the cake cutting, they chose L.O.V.E. by Michael Bublé.
And to end the night on a high, they asked DJ Brian to play Feel So Close by Calvin Harris.
It was a real treat to help Justyna and Nick celebrate their big day, with family and friends from across the globe. To plan your own perfect day, get in touch! We can help you pick the ideal tunes for everything from processional to send-off, and we love to share music from other cultures!
